The first part to make a 3D printed model is to find or design a model. The model must be saved as a .STL file.
You can get some free models on website like http://www.thingiverse.com/
Or you can make your own 3D models with your favorite 3D softwares:

- SketChup (with stl extension) Free
- Blender (with stl extension) Free
- SolidWorks Proprietary software
